Notes and Information

Although no specific location was named, it is possible that Alice was held at Natura Artis Magistra prior to her transfer to London.

She made her public debut on March 3rd, 1967 after arriving in London two months earlier. Contributor Tim May notes that he observed her housed in the elephant pool; one source notes that "nothing has been spared to make her feel at home in the Pavillion until her new home is ready for her", referencing the Casson Pavilion, constructed in 1965 to house pachyderms. At this time I have no information regarding the permanent exhibit that had been planned for her.

Alice's death due to "an accident" was reported in the Zoological Society of London's 1967 annual report; no further specifications were given by the facility.
