Notes and Information

This individual, alongside two other young bulls imported from the Copenhagen Zoo in 1977, were the first walruses in Japan since Protodobenus japonicus of the early Pliocene age.

This group of walruses remained at Copenhagen for a year and a half following capture.

This animal's cause of death was chronic pulpitus, which he had initially begun displaying symptoms of in May/June of 1984 and suffered multiple ongoing recurrences over the next ten years.
