Notes and Information
Kish Dolphin Park made the decision to import two 2-year-old bull walruses from Russia "around the end of 1378", or early 2000.
Uokh arrived from Russia already suffering from mild pulpitis, for which he was taking antibiotics. After two years the condition had become severe, with Uokh becoming critically weak, and thus he underwent the first tusk removal surgery performed in the Middle East; the veterinary team was headed by Homan Melukpour, with the assistance of Siddiqui (anesthesiologist), Sardari (surgeon), and Vashkini (radiologist and sonographer).
Uokh died "perhaps less than three weeks" later from cardiac arrest. Although a date was not specified, the source material mentions that he underwent the procedure in winter.
