Although an age or date of capture for this walrus is currently unknown, he is assumed to have been imported into China at some point during or prior to 2015, corresponding with the last known import of wild-caught walruses into the country.
This walrus was first sighted at Grandview in March of 2023; it is unknown at this time whether he was transferred in from another facility or was a long-term resident at that point. This walrus may potentially be the park's previous young bull Lucky, who had not been sighted since 2018; if this is the case, this individual would have been born around 2014 and imported to Grandview around 2016.
